Team Australia enroute to Turin for World Winter Games

Team Australia is on its way to Turin, Italy, to compete in the Special Olympics World Winter Games, taking place from 8-15 March.

This is the largest Australian team to compete at the World Winter Games. Led by Head of Delegation Georgina Frost (VIC), the team includes 14 athletes, including 12 making their debut and Craig Muhlbock who will compete in his third consecutive Games.

Joining over 1,500 athletes from around the world, Team Australia will compete in two of the event’s eight sports: snowboarding and alpine skiing.

“These athletes embody the spirit of the Special Olympics movement, breaking down barriers and embracing every moment. We know they will represent Australia with courage, determination, and heart,” said Special Olympics Australia CEO Pierre Comis.

“Their dedication and hard work, supported by coaches, families, and the Special Olympics Australia community, have prepared them to take on any challenge they may face in Turin.”

Team Australia’s journey has been made possible through generous community support and the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) – a global champion of the Special Olympics movement.
