Special Olympics Australia Ride Festival

Special Olympics Australia is proud to launch the 2017 Soar & Roar Festival, a unique event which provides people with an intellectual disability the opportunity to experience the thrill of a luxury car Dream Ride. On Sunday 26th November, 2017, luxury car brands and motorbikes from around NSW will make their way to Sydney Motorsport Park to celebrate Special Olympic athletes, their families, support networks and importantly to raise much needed funds for the not-for-profit organisation.

This year the goal is to raise $400,000 through donations from participating motorcar and motorbike participants, with 100% of the funds raised to go towards fueling these unique events, that create an arena for athletes to exercise, have fun and make life-long friends.

The #1 Dream Ride Australia

On 4 December 2016 the inaugural Dream Ride Australia (now SOAR and ROAR Festival) was held. Motoring enthusiasts came together to have fun and raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Australia. Five Dream Rides featuring luxury car brands and two Dream Rides featuring motorbikes from around NSW made their way to Sydney Motorsport Park where they completed a lap of honour around the famous track. The event ran alongside MotorWorld Sydney - Australia's biggest drive experience - and is the first of its kind in Australia.

All funds raised from Dream Ride 2016 helped Special Olympics Australia provide more sports opportunities for people with an intellectual disability so that they can get fit, have fun and make friends. Thanks for your support!

About Special Olympics Australia

Special Olympics Australia volunteers provide sports opportunities for all people with an intellectual disability regardless of their skills, and they do this every week in communities right across Australia.

While some Special Olympics athletes strive to win medals, others enjoy the chance to get active, have fun, make friends and be part of a family. Whatever their motivation, we cater for them by providing meaningful sports programs delivered within a supportive environment where people with an intellectual disability are accepted and can feel proud.

People with an intellectual disability are often ridiculed, misunderstood, isolated or simply ignored. Yet, with the understanding and support of Special Olympics they discover the skills that allow them to improve their health, develop self-confidence and bring joy to themselves, their families and their community.

You can help us give more people with an intellectual disability a chance to achieve their personal best. Learn more about Special Olympics, be inspired by our athletes or best of all, get involved!
