From 20-25 October 2014, Special Olympics Australia, the leading provider of regular sports participation and competition for people with an intellectual disability hosted the tenth Special Olympics Australia National Games in Melbourne, Victoria.

The event featured almost 1,000 athletes of all abilities competing in 16 sports in Australia's sporting capital.

It was the biggest National Games every hosted by Special Olympics Australia.

For many athletes the Games represented the culmination of years of rigorous training and dedication. The National Games also served as a platform for athletes to compete at the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2015 to be held in Los Angeles, USA.
