The Junior National Games were held in Newcastle NSW from 6-10 December 2012.

Ovver 250 athletes with an intellectual disability, from all states and territories, competed in aquatics (swimming), athletics, basketball, cricket, football (soccer), and tennis. There was also skills activities in t-ball, gymnastics, cricket, basketball, football and tennis.

We have been overwhelmed with the number of people that volunteerd for the Games and while the event is now over there are other ways you can get involved. Volunteer with Special Olympics Hunter Valley or sign up for our next major event, the inaugural Asia Pacific Games in December 2013 when Newcastle will host 1,700 athletes from 25 countries.
