Selection Lunch 24 February 2013
The Special Olympics Brisbane West Cricket Inter Regional and Asia Pacific Games selection event was held on Sunday 24 February 2013, at Jindalee State Primary School and luckily the rain held off!
Special thanks to Wolfgang Kaspar of K&K Austrian Coffee House (Sinnamon Park), for his very generous support of catering at a 50% discount. All 52 of the Athletes, Officials, Coaches, Family members, Carers and Supporters attending thoroughly enjoyed the lunch provided.
Special Olympics And My Son
When Berenice’s eldest son was diagnosed with Autism, doctors told her to put him in an institution. If Berenice had listened, Brandon wouldn’t be a medal-winning Special Olympics athlete and a typical teenager doing what typical teenagers do.
It took years of love and perseverance to get where they are now, but being part of the Special Olympics family has made a huge difference to their lives.
Click here to share Berenice’s very personal story.
