Asia Pacific Games 2013

From 1–7 December 2013, Newcastle NSW will welcome 2,000 athletes from over 32 countries to the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games and Team Australia will be the stars of the show!

In December 2013, 2,000 Special Olympics athletes, 600 coaches and officials, over 4,000 volunteers and an estimated 200,000 spectators from over 32 countries in the Asia Pacific region will converge on the City of Newcastle to compete at the first ever Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games, 1-7 December 2013.

On December 1, 2013, Australia will host the inaugural Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games in the beautiful city of Newcastle, New South Wales and provide 2500 Special Olympics athletes with an intellectual disability from more than 32 countries with the opportunity to compete, celebrate and achieve their personal best.

This spectacular event will happen thanks to the 600 volunteer coaches and officials plus over 5,000 games volunteers who will ensure the athletes have the experience of a life time. Over 200,000 spectators will attend, with a spectacular opening ceremony on Sunday evening at Hunter Stadium.

Purchase your tickets online to be seated with the Aussie Green and Gold Army. There are only 1000 seats for this section of the stadium. Together we will cheer and celebrate our 400 athletes marching into the opening ceremony. Click here to buy tickets.
